Weekly Announcements for 9/26-10/1
Parents- our school district is closely monitoring the status of Hurricane Ian- please stay tuned to our school website and social media pages for announcements regarding. Currently, the Homecoming Parade that was scheduled for Friday has been canceled.
Students HAPPY Homecoming!- We have a lot of fun activities planned for you this week!
All students are encouraged to participate in Homecoming Dress Up Days, but ONLY grades 9-12 compete for Homecoming points. Dress up days are as follows:
Monday, 9/26- Give the Eagles the Boot- dress like cowgirl or cowboy
Tuesday, 9/27- Team Up Against the Eagles- Wear your favorite team shirt/jersey
Wednesday, 9/28- Put the Eagles to Sleep- Wear PJs
Thursday, 9/29- Class Color Day; Seniors RED, Juniors BLACK, Sophomores GREY, Freshman WHITE, 8th Grade RED, 7th Grade BLACK, 6th Grade GREY
Friday, 9/30- Trojan Spirit Day- Wear your Trojan Spirit HOCO t-shirts
All students in grades 6-12 will cast their vote for Homecoming King and Queen on TUESDAY, 9/27 during 1st period. Students who are in testing during 1st period may vote in the Media Center after testing. Students who arrive tardy to school may vote with Mrs. Denson in the front office. All students must sign for their ballot.
Thursday will be Powder Puff Football and Macho Man Volleyball. Friday, we have planned a pep rally for middle school and for high school as well as the annual high school scavenger hunt.
Class Prince/Princesses- you are REQUIRED to attend the MANDATORY pre-game/halftime rehearsal that will be held on Wednesday. This rehearsal will begin promptly at 3:15pm at the football field. IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT FOR THIS MANDATORY REHEARSAL YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN PRE-GAME OR HALF TIME CEREMONIES.

Students- please be reminded of the new discipline plan in regards to fighting:
First offense- you get 5 days OSS
Second offense- you get 10 days OSS and go for board review for placement in Alternative School.
Students who are involved in a fight will not be allowed to attend the middle school Snowball dance, Prom, or any other school event OR school field trip such as Grad Bash/Grad Venture as determined by Administration. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!
Makeup Testing and Testing Retakes continue this week- students, it is important that you are here everyday and here for testing. Please get with your first period teacher to find out if you have to test. Testing for this week is as follows:
Monday- Middle Grades PM1 & HS Makeups (see email from Mrs. Harris)
Tuesday- Middle Grades PM1 & HS Makeups (see email from Mrs. Harris)
Wednesday- Middle Grades PM1 & HS Makeups (see email from Mrs. Harris)
Thursday- Middle Grades PM1 & HS Makeups (see email from Mrs. Harris)
Friday- last day to do any makeups
The Letterman Jacket rep will be here today from 9am-12pm in the Guidance area for orders. You must have completed a full season of a Varsity sport in order to purchase. $50.00 deposit is required at time of ordering.
Sports for this week:
Monday- 4:30pm; MS Volleyball vs Lake City Middle, 5:30/6:30pm; JV/V Volleyball vs Madison.
Tuesday- 4/5/6:30pm; MS/JV/V Volleyball @ Ft. White, students will dismiss at 2:15pm. 7pm; MS Football vs Madison.
Friday is Homecoming- 7:30pm; V Football HERE AT HOME vs North Florida Educational
Saturday- 7:20am; Cross Country at Alligator Park

FCA will meet Friday morning at 7:40am in the gym, all students are invited to attend.
Any girls interested in participating in the Jr Miss and Miss HCHS Pageant may stop by to pick up pageant information from; Mrs. Jones, Ms. Mingle, or Ms. Weise. The deadline to enter the pageant is October 7th.
