  • The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to any of more than 900 member colleges and universities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Canada, China, Japan, and many European countries.

  • The Common Black College Application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to any of the 65 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The cost of the application is $20.

  • The Self-Reported Student Academic Record (SSAR) allows students to self-report to colleges/universities courses and grades that have been completed, or will be attempted (e.g., senior year courses in-progress), for high school credit. Since accuracy is important, please use an unofficial transcript/grades report (e.g., online report card) or score report as a reference when you complete the SSAR.

Collegiate Athletics

College-bound student-athletes preparing to enroll in a Division I or Division II school need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure they have met amateurism standards and are academically prepared for college coursework.

PlayNAIA helps future student-athletes discover and connect with NAIA schools, coaches and athletic scholarships. PlayNAIA is also the official clearinghouse for NAIA eligibility. Every student-athlete must register with the NAIA Eligibility Center to play sports at an NAIA college or university.

Student Opportunities

  • The CARE Summer Bridge Program (SBP) provides a comprehensive program of orientation and academic support, designed to ease the transition from high school to college while building a strong academic foundation. Applicants selected to participate in SBP will be first-generation college students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds who have demonstrated resilience.

    CARE SUMMER BRIDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be a first-generation-in-college student*
    • Have a minimum 3.0 weighted academic GPA
    • Have a 19 ACT composite or 990 SAT total score
    • Complete all the minimum academic courses as determined by the state of Florida
    • Meet Florida residency requirements
    • Qualify for the Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA

  • The Florida State University Upward Bound Math and Science Program is open to eligible 9th-12th grade students. This program is specifically offered to Hamilton and Suwannee County students. The program is designed to enhance the academic and personal skills of first generation/limited income high school students while preparing them for college admission, retention, and graduation.

    Available Services including:

    • Tutoring
    • College Tours
    • ACT/SAT Test Prep
    • Mentorship
    • Summer Program at FSU (6 week all-expenses paid program, including transportation, on FSU’s campus)  

    Students must apply to participate in the program. The application is completely online at 2024-2025 CARE-Upward Bound Math and Science Application.

  • The STAND Program at Florida International University (FIU), with the help of some community mental health agency partners, continues offering telehealth services for middle and high school students with attention, organization, time management and academic motivation difficulties through research. 

    Who: Middle and High School students with academic difficulties

    What: A ten-session, once a week, family therapy intervention targeting organization, time management, and planning skills. The program also includes parent coaching in age-appropriate academic support behaviors. Services are available in English or Spanish.

    Cost: Research activities via FIU staff are free. Interventions via community mental health agency clinicians are either fee-based, or free, depending on eligibility criteria and insurance coverage.

    Where: Services are currently available via video-call/telehealth.

    When: Enrollment is ongoing until research study positions fill. Sessions are typically after school or in the evening.

    What is UF Promise? It’s our promise to you.

    UF Promise is a program aimed at first-year college students at the University of Florida. The program works in conjunction with the Office of Admissions, where students are chosen selectively upon entering their first year at UF. Through the admissions process, the university selects candidates for the program who will benefit from additional scholarly support and enrichment for success at UF. Through our program, we encourage these students to grow and meet their full potential beyond their freshman year.

    How does it work?

    Promise students must begin their first semester during the Summer B semester at UF. There, they are initiated into the Promise Learning & Involvement Community (PLIC), where other Promise students like them share the same residence area on campus. This opportunity made possible through UF Housing allows for peer networking, early college friendships, and lasting relationships among fellow Gators and UF Promise scholars.

    Upon arriving at UF Campus, Promise students are invited to attend the OAS Connect Program. Our annual OAS Connect event lets incoming college freshman greet their fellow peers, discover campus resources, and meet their Promise Peer Coaches (PCs), all while becoming accustomed to a university setting for the first time.

    What does it take to be a Promise scholar?

    Promise scholars have access to exclusive resources such as academic advising through OAS, priority options for smaller class sizes during Summer B, and semesterly advanced registration and advising. They must also complete a mandatory First Year Florida course with sections dedicated specifically for Promise students. In addition to this, Promise students can also utilize other resources offered through OAS, including free tutoring, personal and professional workshops, and peer mentorship.

    Yes, you read that right! The College of Coastal Georgia does not require SAT or ACT scores for the purpose of admissions. We are continuing to utilize the high school GPA in order to evaluate a student's application.
