 "CHANGING LIVES THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION"
ROTC

Welcome to the official Hamilton County High School AFJROTC web page.  We have created this page in order to keep our community, parents, and even cadets informed of upcoming events, activities, and projects within the unit.  We hope that with this new medium we can begin to reach the community and show people what our program is really about.  We encourage cadets to use this web site to keep up with resources that may benefit them in our program.  Parents should also use the site to keep track of events and/or activities their child may be participating in.

MISSION
Our mission here at Hamilton County High School AFJROTC is to "Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community."  We do this by teaching our cadets things that they will need to become successful in life so that they can come back to the community to better our standards.

HISTORY

The United States Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC) was established by the 88th Congress of the United States through Public Law 88-647 on October 13, 1964.  Hamilton County School District, having made application to the Secretary of the Air Force for Authorization of an AFJROTC unit, was notified of approval and established a unit at Hamilton County High School.  In January, 1994 FL-943 (our unit) was activated at Hamilton County High School. Since then we have had Lieutenant Colonel Davis working diligently to help better our community through the education of our youth.  In the Spring of 2008 Master Sergeant Scott Griggs departed from the unit and was replaced by Staff Sergeant Spencer Lofton in the Fall of 2008 as the ASI.  We have recently been granted a new ASI who replaced SSgt. Lofton this Fall. Now Master Sergeant Keith Snipes is working hard to build upon the current establishment in order for each and every cadet to succeed.
